CCA's Position on Striped Bass Management

CCA believes that the age and size structure of the striped bass population should closely mirror that of a natural population. In Amendment 6, managers must implement a management scheme that:

  • Supports a sustainable population, within a balanced ecosystem
  • Permits a more natural distribution of age classes
  • Allows the striped bass to exist across its historic geographic range
  • Provides anglers with a reasonable expectation to catch this valuable sport fish.
