MOBILE, AL – CCA Alabama and the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Marine Resources Division, have announced a partnership to complete the massive Bayou Cour Reef in Bon Secour Bay. The Bayou Cour Reef is a proposed 34-acre reef located about one mile north of the Intracoastal Waterway in the Bon Secour Bay arm of Mobile Bay.

CORPUS CHRISTI — The first phase of a multipart project to restore a 160-acre area off the Nueces Bay Causeway near Indian Point has been completed.

The Coastal Bend Bays & Estuaries Program started the project in July 2010 with construction of a 76-acre marsh complex and continued with the planting of marsh grass beginning in November.

CCA North Carolina earns West Marine grant for habitat

In honor of World Oceans Day, West Marine announced the recipients of their annual Marine Conservation Grants program. Grants for a total amount of $30,000 are being awarded to non-profit organizations throughout the U.S. who are working to “improve and protect marine habitat,” which is part of West Marine’s mission.
