Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed without objection H.R. 5126, Direct Enhancement of Snapper Conservation and the Economy through Novel Devices Act of 2020 (DESCEND Act).

The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission voted unanimously today to improve management strategies for Atlantic menhaden, by requiring consideration for the small baitfish’s impact on fish up the food chain.
As members of the recreational fishing and boating community, we encourage the Atlantic Menhaden Management Board to adopt Ecological Reference Points (ERP) for menhaden in August for implementation in the 2021 fishing season.
