CCA Georgia recently teamed up with Kenny Chesney’s No Shoes Reefs and the Reef Ball Foundation to provide Georgia’s Coastal Resources Division (CRD) with 400 miniature reef balls. CRD and CCA Georgia staff, along with volunteers from No Shoes Reefs, the Reef Ball Foundation and CCA Georgia deployed the reef balls at the Ogeechee River Reef near Ft. McAlister State Park in late April.

“Hopefully this is the first of many projects with these three organizations to enhance habitat on the Georgia coast,: said Hillari Keese, CCA Georgia Executive Director.

“We are so excited to team up with Kenny Chesney’s team, and we look forward to being a part of these efforts to find ways for his fans and anyone who cherishes our marine environment to get their feet wet and hands dirty building these habitats.”
